BHOLA II: Our current asset, widely known as BHOLA-II, operates a 220 MW (Natural Gas) / 212 MW (High-Speed Diesel) dual-fuel Combined Cycle Power Plant located at South Kutuba, Borhanuddin, Bhola District. The Power Plant commenced its commercial operation on June 9, 2021, and is connected to the national grid through the Bangladesh Power Development Board’s (BPDB) existing 230 KV Bhola-I switchyard.
The plant has been designed with modern pollution control measures, including NOx reduction systems, the use of cleaner primary fuel, and efficient water management utilizing the nearby Dehular Canal.
Constructed through leading EPC partners from the Shapoorji Pallonji Group, with major equipment supplied by General Electric (GE), the facility demonstrates high standards of engineering excellence and operational reliability. NBBL remains committed to delivering reliable, cleaner, and efficient electricity to support Bangladesh’s growing energy needs and contribute to the country’s sustainable development.
